CS statement

We, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs take this early opportunity to welcome the appointment of, and congratulate, the former Prime Minister Rt Hon. Raila Odinga, as the African Union’s High Representative of Infrastructure Development in Africa, by HE Moussa Faki Mahamat, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on 20th October 2018.

This appointment confirms President Uhuru Kenyatta’s strong commitment and leadership in pursuit of Africa’s integration agenda. The appointment comes at an optune time when African countries are ratifying the African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) Treaty that aims at bolstering intra- Africa trade, in a bid to achieve Africa’s vision 2063.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will extend the necessary support to the High Representative in order to guarantee outmost success during his tenure of service to our continent.
