KENYA IN SOLIDARITY WITH VICTIMS OF INDONESIAN EARTH QUAKE AND TSUNAMI

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary, Amb. Macharia Kamau presented donations of Kenyan tea and coffee on behalf of the Kenyan Government, to the Indonesian Ambassador to Kenya Amb. Soehardjono Sastromihardjo following the recent earthquake disaster in Indonesia.

Indonesia was on 28th September, 2018 hit by a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.5 that triggered a deadly tsunami, killing over 1000 people, injuring and displacing thousands more, at the Sulawesi Island.

H.E President Kenyatta condoled with the Government of Indonesia and victims affected by the disaster on behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, terming it a very difficult and trying moment for the people of Indonesia.

Principal Secretary, Amb. Macharia Kamau while presenting Indonesian ambassador with a donation of Kenyan coffee and tea on behalf of the Kenyan government said Kenya stands in solidarity with the Indonesian people during this difficult moment.

On his part H.E Amb. Soehardjono Sastromihardjo thanked the Government and the people of Kenya for their good gesture and donations, in solidarity with the victims of the disaster.
