Amb. Amina Mohamed pays courtesy call on African Development Bank President

Abidjan December 6, 2016 — Amb. Amina Mohamed on December 6, 2016 met with the President of Africa Development Bank (AfDB) Dr. Adesina Akinwumi at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. She shared her Vision for the African Union Commission. Amb. Mohamed stopped over in Abidjan en route to Nairobi from Dakar, Senegal where she represented President Uhuru Kenyatta during the 3rd Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security.

Amb Mohamed acknowledged the crucial role of the AfDB in the implementation of Africa’s Agenda 2063 and the need to synergise the Bank’s priorities – ‘High 5’s,’ with those outlined under Agenda 2063.

Amb. Amina’s vision for the AUC centralises the need for cooperation, consolidation and coordination between various organs of the African Union, development agencies such as AfDB and the Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), national governments and the people of Africa to steer ‘people-centred’ economic transformation.
