C.S Monica Juma in Seoul to inject new impetus in Kenya-Korea bilateral relations

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Monica Juma arrived in Seoul, South Korea last evening for a one day official visit. She was received at Incheon International Airport by Kenya’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Amb. Mohamed Gello.

During her visit, Amb Juma is expected to hold bilateral talks with H.E Lee Nak-Yeon Prime Minister of Republic of Korea, Mr Cho Hyun, and 1st Vice Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Lee Mikyung President of Korea International Cooperation agency (KOICA).The talks are aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between Kenya and the Republic of Korea.

Kenya will also seek participation and support in the high level Sustainable Blue Economy Conference, scheduled for Nairobi on 26-28 November 2018.

Kenya and South Korea established diplomatic relations soon after independence in February 1964 with the establishment of South Korea embassy in Kenya, and later Kenya opened an embassy in Seoul in 2007. This relation was solidified by the high level visit to Kenya by the South Korea Prime Minister in July, 2018.
