KENYA, CYPRUS MOVE TO DEEPEN BILATERAL COOPERATION IN TRADE, INVESTMENT AND EDUCATION

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to Kenya, H.E. Amb. Nicholaos T. Manolis, today paid a courtesy call on the Director-General for Political and Diplomatic Affairs, Amb. Josphat Maikara, at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, where they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The two diplomats reviewed progress in key areas of bilateral cooperation, focusing on the implementation of outcomes from political consultations, finalisation of pending legal instruments and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and the expansion of trade, investment, diplomatic capacity building and educational scholarship opportunities.

They reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening relations between Kenya and Cyprus and agreed to establish concrete follow-up mechanisms across their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to accelerate the implementation of agreed initiatives.

The follow-up mechanisms are expected to advance shared economic, academic and multilateral objectives while strengthening institutional cooperation between the two countries.

The engagement underscores the commitment of Kenya and Cyprus to expanding mutually beneficial partnerships and translating bilateral engagements into tangible outcomes.
