Strengthening the Kenya–US Strategic Partnership

Kenya and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations ahead of the Fourth Session of the Kenya–US Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD IV), scheduled for December 2026.

Senior officials from the Government of Kenya and the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi convened for a preparatory meeting for BSD IV at Trademark Hotel, Gigiri, Nairobi. The meeting was co-chaired by Amb. Stella Munyi, Deputy Director General, Americas and Caribbean Directorate, and Ms. Carla Benin, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress in bilateral cooperation since the establishment of the BSD Framework in 2019, align strategic priorities and agree on the agenda, expected outcomes and deliverables for the upcoming BSD IV.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in trade and investment, economic prosperity, artificial intelligence, peace and security, health, food security, development cooperation, democratic governance and people-to-people exchanges.

Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to advancing a mutually beneficial partnership anchored in shared interests, mutual respect and a common vision for prosperity, regional stability and sustainable development.

The upcoming BSD IV is expected to culminate in the signing of the 2026–2030 Kenya–US BSD Framework, which will provide renewed strategic direction and a roadmap for advancing cooperation between the two countries.
