CLOSING SESSION OF THE 3RD SESSION OF KENYA – UAE JCC

Foreign Affairs PS Amb. Macharia Kamau together with H.E Khalid Khalifa Al Mualla,Leader of the UAE Delegation, during the closing ceremony of the 3RD Session of the Kenya –UAE JCC in Nairobi,signed MOUs between Emirates Diplomatic Academy and Foreign Service Academy of Kenya. They also signed the Agreed Minutes of the 3RD Session of the Kenya –UAE JCC.
The PS in his remarks appreciated both teams for holding discussions in a friendly and comradely manner that made it possible to produce Agreed Minutes that will form basis for bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The deliberations covered important areas of cooperation, and reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries. Both parties Agreed on strategies to strengthen bilateral ties through exchanges of high level visits, and to cooperate in multilateral fora through the reciprocal support of Candidatures.
Both sides also expressed the desire to enhance trade and investment relations including formation of Joint Business Council between the National Chambers of the two countries.
Other areas agreed on during the Session include finalizing six (6) pending agreements on Security, Economic, financial, and the Kenya-UAE development Cooperation with agreement that Kenya will submit development projects for consideration by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund;
On Labour, Consular and Education issues, Kenya welcomed UAE to visit Training Institutions for assessment of quality of skills produced in order to enhance cooperation in skilled labour.
Both sides agreed to share lists of licensed recruitment agencies to streamline recruitment processes and weed out unscrupulous agencies.
The PS further Affirmed Kenya’s commitment to implement issues agreed upon and enhanced relations in readiness for the 4th session in 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
